THE ELEMENTAL table
The Katie Alize × Kaizen Furniture Makers Elemental Table collaboration is a meeting point between fine art and bespoke furniture. Kaizen provides the engineered, sculptural furniture-making, while contemporary artist Katie Alize provides the one-of-a-kind artwork that becomes the tabletop.
What is the Elemental Table?
The Elemental Collection is a series of tables based around the four classical elements of air, fire, earth and water. The tables use organic forms and fluid metal finishes, with Katie Alize’s signature artwork incorporated into the tops.
Beauty in the Unpredictable
Katie Alize's artistic process embraces the unexpected.
What begins as an intuitive process develops through careful refinement, creating a surface that feels almost alive. No two pieces can ever be exactly alike.
The finished tabletop becomes a landscape of movement, something to explore from every angle and in every changing light.
THE FOUR ELEMENTS
A language of colour, character and connection
The Elemental collection explores the relationship between colour, nature and personality, bringing four distinct expressions of the natural world into the home. Inspired by Earth, Water, Fire and Air, each piece has its own atmosphere and character, offering a way to connect the furniture with the people, relationships and stories that make a home personal.
The four elements can also be viewed through the lens of the zodiac, where each element is traditionally associated with the signs. This creates an opportunity to choose a piece not only for its colour or aesthetic appeal, but for what it represents, a personality, a relationship, a family dynamic or a particular chapter in life.
EARTH
Grounded. Textural. Organic.
WATER
Fluid. Reflective. Ever-changing.
FIRE
Energetic. Intense. Unrestrained.
AIR
Light. Atmospheric. Transient.

An Object With a Story
The Elemental Table was unveiled as part of Kaizen's 30th-anniversary celebrations at The Gherkin, London, bringing together the worlds of art, design and luxury interiors.
Created as a collaboration rather than a conventional furniture collection, the table represents a shared belief; exceptional spaces deserve exceptional objects.
A tale of two directors
Kaizen was shaped by two directors with different strengths, perspectives and ways of working. Rather than competing, those differences became complementary, creating a partnership where ideas could be challenged, refined and ultimately brought to life.
They represent two individuals who did not need to think or work in the same way to create something together. Their differences became their strength, allowing creativity to meet experience, imagination to meet precision and ambition to meet execution.
water meets earth origin table
This collaboration is reflected in two Elemental tables, created to celebrate the individual character of each director while recognising the shared vision that brought them together.
For the first Elemental table, one half is represented by water, the other by earth, personal symbols of the directors behind Kaizen and the qualities they each bring to the business.
TWO PERSONALITIES.
ONE SHARED VISION.
The Elemental tables honour where Kaizen came from, while reflecting the collaborative spirit that continues to shape the future of their work.
The tables therefore become more than pieces of furniture. They are a celebration of the partnership that sits at the heart of Kaizen; two distinct perspectives, brought together by a shared ambition to create something lasting.
BEGIN YOUR ELEMENTAL STORY
Enquire about your piece
To enquire, get in touch with your preferred colour palette, elemental inspiration or the story you would like your piece to express. From there, Katie Alize and Kaizen Furniture Makers can explore the possibilities with you, from selecting the elemental direction and artwork through to the furniture's form, finish and final details.
Because these pieces are created with individuality in mind, the enquiry process is intentional. We take the time to understand your space, your aesthetic and what you want the finished piece to represent before the design begins.
