Katie Alize is a UK abstract artist creating original resin and ink artwork inspired by nature, colour, emotion and the beauty of the unexpected.
Her distinctive artworks combine resin, alcohol ink, pigments, fluid art and natural chemical reactions to create layered abstract pieces with depth, movement, texture, glowing colour and shifting reflections.
Inspired by the natural world and the connection between art and mental health, Katie explores themes of healing, natural cycles, personal growth, mental health, colour psychology and the balance between control and letting go. Each original artwork is created by embracing both intention and unpredictability, transforming chaotic layers into balanced and calming compositions.
Her pieces often feel like otherworldly landscapes, aerial views of internal worlds.
nature and mind
She is fascinated by the way natural environments can influence how the mind and body feel, particularly during moments of stress or overwhelm. Her artwork is an extension of that feeling, created to bring visual calm, movement and connection found in nature into everyday spaces.
This connection between nature and wellbeing is central to Katie’s work. The intention is not to recreate a particular landscape. Instead, it is about capturing the feeling they evoke. On a micro level, the details created in her work are heavily inspired by natural textures, stone, earth, water, tree bark, lichen, moss, wanting the viewer to look closer at the tiny details within. But as a whole, each piece resembles it’s own mindscape.

Beyond the Studio: Collaborations, Commissions & Collectors
Alongside creating her own collections, Katie works with a range of people and organisations to bring her artwork into different spaces. This includes private collectors, interior designers, art advisers, galleries, hospitality groups, brands and creative businesses.
Her approach to collaboration is personal. Rather than creating artwork to fill a space, Katie works to understand the environment, the people displaying it and the feeling the artwork needs to create within the interior.

The Palazzo at The Venetian Resort

symbolism
Control & Surrender
The relationship between control and surrender is one of the major themes in Katie’s work. With personal experiences and unpredictable situations, she reflects her need to understand her own mind through her artwork. To plan, predict, perfect and hold onto a particular outcome. Each piece begins with intention. Colours are chosen, compositions are considered and the direction of the artwork is planned. But once the materials are introduced, things become less predictable.
The ink moves. The resin reacts. Colours separate, spread and blend. Patterns appear that could never have been created by hand. Rather than trying to control every reaction, she allows the materials to develop naturally. She watches, responds and works with what appears.
The chaos is not something to correct. It becomes something to understand and learn from.
Katie then begins to bring the piece back into balance, refining the layers and making careful decisions about where to add, where to soften and where to leave things alone. Sometimes control is necessary. Sometimes letting go is necessary too.
womanhood, moon cycles and everchanging nature
Katie is particularly interested in the connection between the changing moon cycles, body acceptance and womanhood. This level of symbolism is an extension of Katie’s own cycles in mood and body, and the way she navigates these constant changes in her life. Pieces like ‘Goddess’ , ‘Love Yourself’, ‘Blame The Moon’, ‘The Way We Were’, ‘Harvest Moon’ all include these inspirations.
The moon has long been associated with femininity, rhythm and renewal, and its changing phases offer a powerful visual reminder that women move through their own cycles of change, energy, rest and renewal. For Katie, this isn't about trying to remain the same. It is about accepting that change is a natural part of being human.
The sun, its daily cycles and the changing seasons carry a similar symbolism within her work. Katie often creates collections inspired by different times of the year, with autumn holding a particularly significant place in her practice. The season's themes of letting go, spiritual death, transformation and rebirth reflect the idea that endings can also create space for something new.
It’s also a way of accepting that sometimes we can be whole, we can hide, we can show up as a fragment of ourselves, but that doesn’t make us any less ourselves. Everything is continuously changing and this concept is a reminder that it’s okay for us to change with it.

In 2021, Katie Alize hosted a live online art workshop for high-profile influencers and Elemis partners to celebrate the QVC launch of the new Elemis Pro-Collagen Cleanser. The session guided participants step-by-step to create a 20cm mixed-media artwork inspired by the cleanser’s signature colours, showcasing Katie’s resin and abstract landscape techniques and reinforcing brand collaboration and product-driven creative marketing.
