Fire symbolises energy, courage, and transformation. This element is a reflection of exploring inner passions, motivations, and even the areas of your life where you may feel stagnant or in need of a “spark” to make a change. Fire energy reveals how you approach challenges and can clarify when you are driven by anger, excitement, or ambition. I have used hues of deep orange, red, gold, copper, yellow and warm toned browns to emulate the depth of fire.
Water - Emotions and Adaptability
SCORPIO | PISCES | CANCER
Water represents emotions, intuition, and adaptability, symbolising the subconscious and the flow of feelings. Water energy helps you examine how you handle emotions, relationships, and change. It encourages you to be fluid and to move with your emotions rather than against them, recognising that emotions are constantly in motion. I have used blues, teals, turquioses, golds, silvers, beiges and whites to recreate the tranquility and movement of water.
Earth - Stability and Nurturing
TAURUS | VIRGO | CAPRICORN
Earth is about groundedness, stability, and nurturing, symbolising the physical and material aspects of life. Earth energy encourages you to look at your roots, your values, boundaries, and sense of security. It asks you to consider how you care for yourself, your environment. I have used earthly brown and green tones, with golds, blues, whites to create abstractions of anchoring earth.
Air - Intellect and Communication
GEMINI | LIBRA | AQUARIUS
Air is associated with thought, communication, and perspective. It governs clarity, reason, and the sharing of ideas. Air is about exploring curiosity and the pursuit of knowledge, as well as the ability to adapt your perspective. I have used purples, pinks, light blues, light oranges, silvers and iridescent ‘ghost’ pigments to bring the ethereal energy of air into physical artworks, the air colour scheme is also inspired by the sky and movement of clouds.
